6 Summer Country Music Concerts To Look Forward To

By Allie Mitchell on May 31, 2016

Country music, whether you like and appreciate it or not, will always be around. There will always be country concerts and festivals, no matter what you do. The sales of cowboy boots will go up, as will the sales of fringed vests. Country music has stolen the hearts of many and has evolved over the years.

There are different styles of country nowadays, such as pop country, bluegrass, rockabilly, country folk, and the list goes on and on. It really just depends on what you are in the mood for. Country music has been stereotyped as the music full of trucks, girls in cut-off shorts, and dogs. Also, on occasion the word “America” gets thrown in there, either just because or if the song allots for the term to be introduced.

As the official summer months approach, the festivals and concerts start to appear. Festivals and concerts of all types start popping up everywhere and people go out trying to find new outfits and they start saving money for tickets. These activities usually come back-to-back and students tend to gather in packs when they attend.

A large group of friends around when the majority of the attendees of the activities are drunk is probably an ideal thing to have. So as the summer months close in and the country music haze creeps upon us, instead of Google searching all the hot festivals of the summer, here is a list of the top 6 country music concerts you should be looking forward to and saving towards.

1. Florida Georgia Line: Starting June 16, this country group’s summer tour seems to be going underway. They are known for their honkey melodies and good-vibe music that has just a dash of romance and cuteness to it. They stepped in the limelight in 2012 with the first single (“Cruise”) from their debut album (“Here’s to the Good Times”) and kept increasing their fame from there.

2. Luke Bryan: This handsome and impressive country singer goes on tour starting June 2, so don’t miss out. His songs have been said to be easygoing, honest, and give a real sense of life and love. He has been named one of the Entertainers of the Year, and adds his boyish charm to his resume.

3. Garth Brooks: This country legend has been tracking sales since 1991. His summer tour begins on June 9. His first top 10 hit (“Much Too Young, To Feel This Damn Old”) reached its No. 1 spot over 25 years ago. One of his most notorious hits (“Friends in Low Places”) was on the No. 1 spot for over four weeks.

4. Jason Aldean: This country singer has released four albums and 14 songs to radio in only six years; amazingly only ONE of those failed to crack the top 10. He received a nomination for Entertainer of the Year at the CMA AWARDS; those accomplishments are enough to remove his “in-the-making” tag and make him a full-blown country sensation. Aldean’s summer tour dates start on June 17.

5. Chris Stapleton: This breakout country star came onto the scene in about 2015 where he stole the hearts of many country fans around the world. He has nabbed a few awards so far in his career after his hit debut solo album, including New Artist of the Year, Male Vocalist of the Year, and Album of the Year at the 2015 CMA AWARDS. Stapleton, being a singer-songwriter, has had many of his songs cut by other country artists and even big non-country artists like Adele. In 2016, so far he has received numerous Grammy Awards and ACM Awards. His summer tour dates start on May 27.

6. Kenny Chesney: Chesney’s songs are a mixed bag — a mystery of sorts. This artist has built one of the most successful contemporary country careers filled with music that is populated with laid-back summer songs, upbeat party tunes and even slow, somber songs for those of us who need those. Not many country artists can compete with Chesney’s track record, since he does have many platinum albums and sold-out stadium shows. His summer tour dates begin on May 28.
